I don't know about you, but my skin is always dry, chapped, and uncomfortable.
Of course, hydrating your body with water or tea is the first line of defence to conquer this scaly situation, but we tested some products to help ease the winter dryness.
I tend to have a lip balm in each room of my home, my desk, my purse, and the car. I'm serious about my lip care. If I find myself without some, it's not a pretty sight.
My Top 3 lip balms:
I've just started cleansing with Pai Skincare's Camellia and Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser. It's pretty magical. I felt like my skin was breathing for the first time in months after I used it. Also, their muslin facecloth worked wonders. I'm sold.
I followed up with Fresh Seaberry's Moisturizing Face Oil. It's made with a blend of pure oils—seaberry, cranberry seed, camellia seed, grapeseed, and sweet almond—packed with restorative omegas to maintain a youthful glow.
And, finally, I moisturized with Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream With Super 7 Complex. It's lightweight, age-defying, and good for all skin types.
My face feels amazing—almost like I'd just had a professional facial. Love it!
I'm picky about hand cream—it has to absorb fast and it can't be greasy. I carry Caudalie hand and nail cream in my purse. In my living room, you'll find Burt's Bee's Honey & Grapeseed hand cream, which, at first, feels so wet and awful—but, within seconds, it absorbs, leaving me with super soft hands.
I always tend to forget about my feet; I just don't like the feeling of cream on them. But they need moisture, too, and, when my heels are in danger of cracking, I opt for Bliss Foot Patrol exfoliating and softening cream.
I like to double up products to keep the body moisturized. I use Wildrose Magnolia Summer Sauna Body Serum right after I shower, Fresh Sugar Acai Age Delay Body Cream on my body, and special Eczema lotions and potions (mentioned below).
I've had eczema for over a decade, and it's both irritating and unsightly. Keeping it in check starts with diet, but during the winter it's doubly hard to contain. I've tried EVERYTHING, and I've finally found my treatment mix.
It starts in the shower with Saje Eczema Ease soap bar on affected areas. If they're inflamed, I use Province Apothecary Eczema Balm. When they're calm, I use Province Apothecary Hydrating Rescue Balm daily. Both come in the handy Heal Eczema Kit, which is also great for psoriasis and extremely dry skin. Highly recommended.
If your man is like mine and unwittingly puts body cream on his face and vice versa, do I have the cream for you! It's called Everyone Lotion. It's a 3-in-1 lotion that's light enough for your face and hydrating enough for hands and body.
I found it on well.ca, a fantastic Canadian site that sells everything from vitamins to vibrators. It boasts a great gluten-free section, baby and toy section, and so much more. I place at least three orders a month with them. You'll never need to go to Shopper's Drug Mart again!
